Neurodivergent Therapy
ETC specializes in clients with formal diagnoses or symptoms of neurodivergence including ADHD, ADD, autism, “AuDHD”, and more. We help clients navigate “burn out,” social connection difficulties, and the experiences of emotional and sensory overwhelm, among many other things. Perhaps you are processing grief surrounding a late ADHD or autism diagnosis. Maybe you are attempting to manage your extremes, vacillating between superhuman motivation and a “freeze state” of indecision. You might experience shame spirals related to rejection sensitivity or struggle to complete daily tasks that you think “should be easy.” You may be wrestling with a loss of identity as you learn your support needs may be higher than you realized. Maybe you’ve spent a lifetime trying to hide your “stims,” and you now struggle with chronic dissociation.
Neurodivergence is often misunderstood, and ETC does not view your neurodivergence as a deficit. All ETC staff are neurodivergent and understand the particular struggles, complex sensitivities, and unique brilliance that can come with neurodivergence. We work with you to explore your specific motivations, strengths, and stuck points and develop strategies and accommodations you can use to navigate the world in a way that is both authentic and realistic for you.
Please note: While we are able to work with clients with a pre-existing autism diagnosis, self-diagnosis, or those who display or identify with many symptoms of autism, we are not able to diagnose autism. If you wish to pursue a formal autism diagnosis, we will connect you with professionals who perform neuropsychological autism assessments.
