Our Approach to Somatics

We do not live in a world where prioritizing and connecting with your body is easy or intuitive. However, it is possible. Somatic work is perfect for you if you have tried traditional talk therapy with minimal relief, are currently in psychotherapy and want to supplement your current care, or simply want to deepen your mind-body connection.

Cheyenne incorporates elements of CBT into her somatic practice and takes a gentle, intuitive, and authentic approach to somatic work.

Individual sessions typically adhere to the following format:

  • Welcome/accommodations

  • Opening meditation

  • Somatic practices (we will talk through your focus of the week and experiment with various somatic practices together, depending on what comes up – this could include roleplay, somatic parts work, mindfulness, imagery, breathwork, stretching, reframing unhelpful thoughts and beliefs, art, and more)

  • Mini closing meditation

  • Intention setting/Key takeaways

Cost Transparency

  • Cheyenne is incredible to work with, I cannot recommend her enough. She excels at creating a safe space that encourages growth, vulnerability, and realness. She is so knowledgeable and such a great guide through challenging moments. She has opened up the world of somatic therapy for me and I truly could not be more grateful.

  • I began my session with Cheyenne skeptical and ended in relief and clarity. I found curiosity in my pain and tools for somatic movement that I have carried with me since. She has an open and warm presence that is inviting and down to earth. I particularly appreciated how resourced she was to fit what worked for me in the moment, shifting to the flow of our time together. She would be a wonderful fit for anyone looking to find peace in their mind and body where you might have been otherwise dismissed.

  • This was my first somatic session ever, so I was not sure what to expect. Cheyenne was so genuine and welcoming that it felt easy to trust her and surrender to the process. It was really cool to explore how I felt through the exercises she led, and I was surprised by how quickly she was able to get me to a point of clarity about some things I had been struggling to work through for a while on my own. I would definitely recommend working with Cheyenne to anyone who was interested.

  • Cheyenne walked me through my first experience with somatic therapy. Despite not knowing what to expect, I immediately felt safe and comfortable settling into my body. Her guidance helped me gain a new understanding of how my frustration manifests physically, a stronger connection to my needs, and gentler compassion towards my limits. Her observation and insight enabled me to discover hand movements and breathing patterns that reconnect my mind and body, and allow me to move through my day with greater ease. I am deeply grateful for what working with Cheyenne taught me about myself.
